Enterprise Truly Earns 6th Straight J.D. Powers Award, These Guys Kick Ass

I've traveled a good million miles and rented cars from pretty much everybody under the sun, and that include the "top rated" likes of Hertz. I've paid the absurd $20 a day for GPS and the accidental $15/day for insurance, but nobody has been as good to me as the people at Enterprise, and I do mean nobody.

Cutting to the chase, their cars are every bit as good as the competition, their rates are slightly better and the customer service is far better by miles. Yes, even in Puerto Rico.

I've never had a single bad experience with a car rental agency that was not Enterprise. That means that every bad experience I've had has been with other companies, and every experience I've had with Enterprise has been largely, overwhelmingly positive.

In my jillion-odd miles, I've had my (un?)fair share of grievances, no denying that. The difference is that when it was with Enterprise, the complaint was always resolved, and when the complaint came up with others, it was not.

Enterprise has everything you could want, from sub-compact right up through premium vehicles and hybrids, and they offer them at fair and equitable rates. Whether you want a car for an evening around town, a weekend, a week or (as in my case) for months or more, you'll get better rates than anyone else will offer, service that will exceed any competitor, and just handling of any of your potential complaints that will exceed your expectations.

There's a reason Enterprise has been rated the JD Powers #1 car rental company so many years running, and it's simple: everything. All Enterprise has had to do to earn this rating is have the best prices, best service, best telephone service, best follow-up after the sale and best roadside assistance the industry has to offer… that's all, just all of those things.

In San Juan, I dealt with a manager named Houston, and he was singly the most professional person I deal with in the whole or Puerto Rico, and I dealt with some pretty high rollers in the entrepreneurial realms of assorted tourist endeavors. Given the opportunity, I'd suggest you seek him out and do the same. He brought me water when I was parched and allowed my children use of his bathroom when it was urgent, and this was nothing less than a day's work for him, his ethic and the standard by which he runs his branch.

Go Enterprise, and don't go back, and that's that.

EDITORS NOTE: Even when it came time to fact-check this article. Kenneth at the National Reservation Center at customer care was beyond helpful. Though merely a clerk entrusted to anser the phone, and without knowing the full gravity of the call, he remained on the line until the rep from corporate came on the line. He was forthcoming with cordiality, information and his identification, and he was dedicated to making sure the call was handled in client-agreeable fashions, despite being a lowly first-line of defender in the corporate battle. Everyone I spoke to from there out was equally as professional, and only lived up to the expectations I had of Enterprise, even though these expectations were beyond imagination for dealings with competitors.
